Change Management                 L38

Ensure your whole organization’s people contribute to, support and drive positive new initiatives

The problem is organizational changes are often resisted or not fully engaged in by stakeholders leading to their eventual failure…‬‬

Learn how to get your people feeling comfortable and positive about change so you can achieve your goals. Use effective systems and processes to ensure they have the right new mindset and skills.

The atmosphere in the room was good. Your way of teaching made us positive. I realized basic things are always important even in a business situation. Practice makes perfect. I am sure I’m going to remember and use the models you showed us again and again.

Sales Representative, Digital Solutions Company

Jon has a knack for quickly internalizing the sales or marketing process / work flow for any business. But what’s more amazing is how he can help us find ways to improve that are innovative, yet easily understood and solid from a business standpoint. It leaves you wondering, ‘Hey, why didn’t we think of that before!’

CEO, Marketing Company

I’ve never seen our team members so enthusiastic and engaged. Not just sharing own their good ideas, but also planning how to win over other stakeholders

General Manager, Global hotel chain

The Purpose of this workshop:

■ Understand how people are affected by change, and how to support them effectively at each stage to win their buy-in and execution‬‬ for real new initiatives in your organization.

Who is it for?

■ Project managers, business managers, sales people, strategists‬ and people managers ‬

How will participants benefit?

■ Reduce resistance and build enthusiasm for change

■ Achieve successful project execution in faster time by improving intercultural leadership and communication techniques

■ Learn stakeholder planning, risk analysis, and how to plan effective communication and support for stakeholders

■ Find solutions to drive forward currently “stuck” change initiatives with wider acceptance and active support

Workshop Methodology:

■ Change management overview: 1. Do survey about change experiences in the organization. Discuss in groups. Consider industry case study based on combination of typical experiences in own industry/organization. 2. Understand various change models: combined into a simple flow based on Lewin’s popular “unfreeze à change à refreeze” framework.

■ Intercultural communication: 1. Know frameworks and typical gaps between Japanese and global management culture. 2. Learn techniques for bridging gaps: making a hybrid working style that mixes the best of global and Japanese business culture. (Example: Japanese more proactively communicate, global managers do more alignment ‘active listening’) 3. Use this as base to improve change management communication, leadership.

■ J-Global change management tools: 1. Promote growth mindset. 2. Practice“ speed alignment stakeholder mapping,” “J-global meeting style” in order to improve intercultural communication and win faster, wider, deeper support for change initiatives.

■ Explore ”change” cases: 1. Analyze first case again based on frameworks and tools learned today. Discuss issues, impact, causes and solutions. Roleplay good and bad examples. 2. In small groups, create own cases based on issues our member is currently experiencing. Analyze, find solutions, prepare ideas/roles and act out ”success” roleplay.

■ Own change management next actions: Plan using tools and adapting own behaviour and communication style in our real business.

Program highlights

■ Enjoyable and practical interactive seminar to inspire participants’ peer-to-peer learning, and encourage each others’ development
